ARTHROPODA Description: Arthropods are name for their jointed appendages. Some of the appendages are used for locomotion, food handling, taste, defense, touch, and reproduction. The exoskeleton of arthropods are made of chitin. Chitin is a tough flexible material which protects the soft body parts and prevent dehydration.
